The aphorism, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,” not only embraces the whole of a man’s being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

In this opening paragraph of his classic book As a Man Thinketh, James Allen succinctly gives us they key to becoming, doing, and having all we have were created for.

We are what we think we are. We only do what we have thought about. We become what we give our attention to. Everything we have is a result of what we are, and what we do—a result of what we think about, and focus on, and give our attention to. The circumstances of the world around us, and—even more importantly—the conditions of the world inside of us, are determined by our thoughts and beliefs.

Are your thoughts serving you? What can you decide to believe and focus on today that will begin to really serve you?
